June 26, 2019. Faculty of Physics, Lomonosov Moscow State University, and Synopsys held a workshop at the MSU on the technical aspects of developing specialized processors with a problem-oriented instruction set.

Synopsys is the world CAD manufacturers leader, which allow them to develop the most complex VLSI and systems on-chip. Faculty of Physics Lomonosov MSU - the leader in the field of modern education in Russia. The seminar addressed issues related to various aspects of the specialized processors design process, starting with the concept of design and software and hardware optimization, and ending with specific application examples for 5G and artificial intelligence technologies. The seminar discussed the software package ASIP Designer from Synopsys - one of the most advanced tools for processors with problem-oriented instruction set development.

We thank Nikolai Nikolaevich Sysoev, Dean of the Faculty of Physics, Lomonosov MSU, and Elena Ivanova, Director of Synopsys LLC, for assistance in organizing the event. Special thanks to the main speakers from Synopsys: Dr. Marcus Willems (Synopsys GmbH) and Verbist Partik Jan D. (SNPS Belgium BVBA) for really informative reports and interesting communication!
